What a careful installation includes

The details that help your new system work properly.

Equipment selection is only part of the project. We also review airflow, connections, controls, and the tests needed before the system is put into service.

Equipment sized for your home

We assess the heating and cooling needs of your home, using the sizing method appropriate to the system. The old equipment label is only one piece of information.

Ductwork and airflow

We check the existing ducts and explain any changes needed for the new equipment to perform properly.

Refrigerant setup

For refrigerant systems, we follow the equipment requirements for piping, evacuation, charging, and operating checks.

Operating measurements

We check airflow and relevant operating readings, then make the adjustments the equipment requires.

Permits and inspections

We identify applicable permit and inspection requirements and include the arrangements in your project scope.

Startup and walkthrough

We check system operation, set up the controls, and explain how to use and maintain your new equipment.

Installation day

What to expect on installation day.

Most replacements are one day. Bigger projects — new ductwork, a boiler with re-piped zones, a multi-zone ductless system — run longer, and you’ll know which one you have before we start.

Protect your home

We protect the work areas and plan a clear path for moving the equipment.

Remove old equipment

We disconnect and remove the equipment included in your proposal, recovering refrigerant where applicable.

Install the new system

We complete the duct, piping, venting, drainage, and electrical work included in the project.

Prepare refrigerant systems

Where applicable, we pressure-test, evacuate, and charge the system according to the equipment requirements.

Test operation

We check airflow, temperatures, controls, and combustion where applicable before completing startup.

Walk through the work

We clean up, explain the controls and maintenance needs, and review the paperwork and applicable warranty details.

Useful answers before you call

Installation questions.

Why can installation quotes differ?
Quotes may include different equipment, features, warranties, and installation work. Compare the full scope, including ductwork, piping, venting, electrical work, and permits. We are happy to explain what is included in our proposal.
How do you recommend equipment and upgrades?
We start with your home, your comfort concerns, and your budget. We explain what each recommended option would do for you so you can decide whether it is worthwhile.
Should I repair or replace?
We consider the failure, equipment condition, safety, repair history, parts availability, and cost. If a safe, practical repair is available, we explain it alongside any suitable replacement options.
How long does installation take?
Some straightforward replacements can be completed in one day. New ductwork, boiler piping, and systems serving several rooms can take longer. We explain the expected schedule before the work begins and keep you informed if it changes.
Do you arrange permits and inspections?
We review the permit and inspection requirements for the project and include the applicable arrangements in your written scope. Ask us if you would like to go over those details.
Is financing available?
Financing options are available through our financing provider, subject to approval and its terms. We can help you find the application information. Review the total installed price and financing terms before deciding.
What warranty comes with a new system?
Warranty coverage depends on the equipment and installation. Your proposal sets out the applicable manufacturer coverage and Middletown HVAC terms. We help with required equipment registration and are happy to answer questions before you approve the work.
From someone who made the replacement decision

What buying a system from us is like.

Five of our Google reviews, quoted word for word.

Had a great experience working with Bryan & Heather. Started with an emergency call late evening during a bad winter storm when our old HVAC broke. Bryan came right out to diagnose the problem. Due to our old system being very old, it made sense to replace the entire system rather then the specific part which caused the issue. Bryan took the time to explain everything so I could make an informed decision and trusting his guidance. He even came back in the middle of the night to leave space heaters for our family until the new system could be installed.

Since the new system was installed we have a few minor issues, most of which are due to our unique house issues. However, Bryan or his team comes right out immediately upon contacting them. I would definitely recommend Middletown HVAC to anyone dealing with HVAC issues.

Bryan and his team are stellar. They installed my new system last summer, and just came for my first maintenance check. They were on time, ready to go and made excellent recommendations for continued improvement in the future. There is never sales pressure, and they are thorough and helpful. I can’t say enough good things and would recommend them to anyone looking for an HVAC company.

Jim J. · Google review · March 2026

Our realtor referred Middletown HVAC to us when we bought our house. Our inspection had flagged the previous HVAC system as needing to be replaced and the Middletown HVAC team got us set up with a great new system. Bryan, Heather, and the rest of the team did a fantastic job with the installation, as well as with some minor items that we needed help with. Beyond the installation, the team were great communicators with scheduling, as well as offering insights/tips where needed. We will continue to use them for any future HVAC needs.

If you need anything related to HVAC installation, repairs or support, I highly recommend Bryan and the Middletown HVAC team!

Colin M. · Google review · January 2026

I contacted Middletown HVAC this past Saturday for an emergency call. They could not have been easier to deal with and were out to the house same day, provided a full report with their evaluation of the heating system and recommended repairs, have the part ordered and will have the boiler fixed by the end of the week. They were available by phone for questions, are super responsive, showed up when they were supposed to, and their prices are reasonable.

As a long-time area realtor, I work with a lot of contractors and am so happy to have recently met the owners of Middletown HVAC. I look forward to working with them and to referring them to my clients in the future and would highly recommend giving them a call if you are in need of HVAC maintenance, servicing, repair, or installs!
